ITINERARY
Early Departure from Cusco:
The tour begins very early, departing around 4:30 a.m. in tourist transport. The journey takes approximately three hours to reach the town of Mollepata, where we’ll stop for breakfast.
Breakfast in Mollepata:
Before beginning our hike, we’ll enjoy a traditional breakfast in the village of Mollepata, which will provide us with the energy needed for the ascent to the lake.
Hike to Humantay Lake:
After breakfast, we’ll continue by vehicle to the trailhead. The hike to Humantay Lake takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, ascending to an altitude of 4,200 meters (13,780 feet). During the climb, you’ll have views of the Salkantay Glacier and the stunning Andean landscape.
Arrival at Humantay Lake:
Upon reaching the lake, you’ll be rewarded with a spectacular view of the turquoise waters surrounded by snowy mountains. You’ll have time to rest, take photos, and enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings. This is a perfect opportunity to admire the untouched nature and feel the mountain’s powerful energy.
Descent and Lunch:
After enjoying the lake, we’ll descend back to the starting point, where our transport will be waiting to take us back to Mollepata for a buffet lunch.
Return to Cusco:
Following lunch, we’ll head back to Cusco, arriving between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m.
