Early Departure from Cusco
We depart Cusco at 4:00 a.m. in a tourist vehicle. The trip takes approximately three hours, passing through beautiful Andean landscapes before reaching the hike’s starting point.
Breakfast on the Way
Before starting the hike, we’ll stop in a local village to enjoy a traditional breakfast, giving us the energy needed for the trek to Vinicunca.
Hike to Rainbow Mountain
We’ll begin the hike to Rainbow Mountain from the trailhead at around 4,600 meters (15,091 feet) above sea level. The trek lasts about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on the group’s pace. As we ascend, the views of snowy mountains and valleys become increasingly stunning.
Arrival at Rainbow Mountain
Upon reaching the summit at 5,200 meters (17,060 feet), you’ll be rewarded with an impressive view of Rainbow Mountain. Here, you’ll have time to rest, take photos, and soak in the magnificent Andean landscape.
Descent and Lunch
After enjoying Rainbow Mountain, we’ll begin the descent back to the starting point. We’ll then head to a local restaurant for a buffet lunch.
Return to Cusco
After lunch, we’ll make our way back to Cusco, arriving at approximately 5:00 or 6:00 p.m.
