Departure from Cusco by Train
We depart early from Cusco with private transport to the train station in Ollantaytambo or Poroy (depending on availability). During the train ride, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the Sacred Valley, with majestic mountains, the Urubamba River, and traditional farmland.
Arrival in Aguas Calientes and Free Afternoon
After a 1.5 to 2-hour journey, we arrive in Aguas Calientes, the charming town at the foot of Machu Picchu. You’ll have the afternoon free to explore its streets, visit the hot springs (optional), or browse the artisan market.
Dinner and Overnight in Aguas Calientes
In the evening, enjoy dinner at your hotel or a local restaurant in Aguas Calientes. Afterward, rest at the hotel in preparation for the exciting day ahead.
Ascent to Machu Picchu and Guided Tour
Early in the morning, we’ll take the bus from Aguas Calientes up to the Machu Picchu entrance (a 25-minute ride). Once there, you’ll enjoy a guided tour lasting approximately 2 to 3 hours, exploring the main highlights of the citadel, such as the Temple of the Sun, the Main Plaza, the Intihuatana, and the agricultural terraces.
Free Time in Machu Picchu
After the guided tour, you’ll have free time to explore on your own. You can walk along the terraces, admire the views, or simply relax while taking in the energy of this sacred site.
Return to Aguas Calientes and Lunch
We’ll descend by bus back to Aguas Calientes, where you’ll have time to enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before taking the train back to Ollantaytambo or Poroy.
Return to Cusco
Upon arrival at the train station, a private vehicle will take you back to Cusco, arriving between 7:00 and 9:00 p.m.
